Pacific Bondi Beach

20 Mar 2020

A landmark on the beachfront for decades, Pacific Bondi Beach brought new life and vitality to the beachfront with the adaptive re-use of the former Swiss Grand Hotel. Completed in 2016, the internationally acclaimed building designed by PTW Architects references the Art Deco character of Bondi with its curvilinear walls and elegant facade with a design that was inspired by the beauty of Bondi’s landscape.

Heralding a new era for Bondi Beach, the Pacific has revitalised the promenade by activating street frontages and providing pedestrian links with a six-storey atrium and an on-site village at its heart with everything from gourmet cafes and high-end boutiques to day spas and bakeries. Its beachside living at its absolute best with a sense of space and quality of design that is completely unprecedented in Bondi. In fact, the apartments were so sought-after that in the first release in 2012 all but two of the 75 apartments sold within the first few hours.

David Tyrrell has just listed a three-bedroom apartment on the north-east corner of the building at 215/180 Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach with interiors by Koichi Takada Architects. Purchased off the plan by the current owner, the luxurious house-sized apartment holds a front row seat to the beach action and really engages with the ocean views.

The owner says, “Living in Bondi is incomparable to anywhere else. Everything you could need is at the tip of your fingers from award-winning restaurants and cocktail bars to fitness clubs and the coast walk and of course the iconic beach itself! The lifestyle and community are famous worldwide for being relaxing and fun loving with an emphasis on health and wellbeing that comes with living by the ocean. Waking up here every day and watching the sun rise over Ben Buckler makes you feel very lucky, there really is nowhere like it in the world.”
