On Point In Darling Point

12 Mar 2021

The Darling Point peninsula has a reputation as one of Sydney’s most exclusive addresses renowned for its grand estates, scenic parkland and incredible views. A genteel suburb, Darling Point is undergoing a transition with its proximity to the CBD and harbour attracting a younger demographic who want proximity to the city but seek a quieter pace of life than neighbouring suburbs like Potts Point and Double Bay. Our Darling Point specialist Sean Poche says, “The changing face of Darling Point has been really notable in the past couple of years and, as a younger demographic moves in, the transition is reflected in the residential building that are favoured by professionals. A good example is our recent sale of 104/11 Yarranabbe Road, Darling Point which sold well above reserve for $1.684m which is a great result for a 70sqm apartment. The knockout harbour views and upgraded landmark building attracted a lot of interest, predominantly from young professionals who seem to be taking over from the downsizer market with 164 groups inspecting the apartment over the campaign and 10 registered bidders on auction day.”

Sean has listed another fantastic apartment with spectacular views of the harbour at 29G/3 Darling Point Road, Darling Point. Sean says, “The views from the sub penthouse of the Ranelagh building really have to be seen to be believed as they create an ever-changing backdrop transforming by day into a dazzling harbour display as the sun sets over the city. The three-bedroom apartment was purchased new back in 1971 and has never before been listed on the market and, now that the building has undergone extensive renovation works, it’s ready for a new style chapter.”

Sean also has another Darling Point listing due to launch in the coming weeks. If you’d like to find out more about the Mitchell Road apartment, give him a ring on 0433 011 576.

New to the market this week is Debbie Donnelley’s listing at 72/10 Etham Street, Darling Point which commands breathtaking unobstructed views over the harbour from its top floor setting. The north-east facing apartment is just 350m to Darling Point wharf for a pleasant commute into the city and comes with secure undercover parking on title. Debbie says, “You feel like you’re floating above the harbour in this incredible apartment with every room enjoying a captivating view and, with Carthona as a neighbour, the address is undoubtedly one of Darling Point’s best.”
